As part of its LB system remote I/O solution, Pepperl+Fuchs offers a power supply for use in Zone 2, Class I/Div. 2 explosion-hazardous areas. This 24V remote I/O power supply in protection type Ex nA feeds the I/O modules and com units/gateways mounted on the corresponding backplane.
The power supply features galvanic isolation to mains power and can be operated in redundancy mode. Based on the number of I/O modules and power consumption, a third remote I/O power supply in standby operation is needed for redundancy mode.
