G11 AS-Interface Passive Splitters

G11 passive splitters are recent additions to our family of G11 Series AS-Interface I/O Modules. Available in flat cable or M12 male connector versions to satisfy varied application needs, these splitters are sealed to keep out contaminants. They are also ECOLAB certified and IP67 rated for reliable operation in wet environments. In addition to AS-Interface, they are well suited for any power or network distribution requirement.

“More connectors mean that less space is required to distribute an AS-Interface network to the field,” says Tim Cicerchi, Product Manager, Pepperl+Fuchs. “Onboard LEDs provide users with quick and easily identifiable connection status. A green light indicates that the voltage is okay and a red light indicates reverse polarity.”

G11 Series AS-Interface modules feature a simple, round housing design that enables the AS-Interface cable to easily exit the housing in any direction to significantly simplify installation and operation. The round design also leverages an O-ring gasket to make these modules impervious to water jets or submersion.

With its unique yellow flat cable, AS-Interface supplies power to sensors and actuators, and enables users to transfer data to up to 31 analog nodes per AS-Interface network. Retrofitting AS-Interface is extremely simple, and the installation time and costs are much lower compared to conventional wiring technology. AS-Interface transfers data reliably, is extremely resistant to electromagnetic interference, has a diagnostic function and can detect faults such as short circuits.
