RFID Heads+Transponder

Group Overview:
RFID Heads+Transponder
Reliability and flexible integration
Transponders are information carriers, e.g. on a transport container or an object. They store data that can be changed according to the process step. The read/write heads that transmit the information also have to be reliable and easily integrated. Pepperl+Fuchs meets these requirements and provides you with the right solution for every industrial application.
Transponders
RFID transponders include code carriers and data carriers
In terms of transponders, you can select between code carriers, which contain an individual code, and data carriers, which can be read and written to. Along with variable information, data carriers always store a read-only code that ensures reliable identification.
- We supply transponders in a wide variety of designs, including flat cylinders, shell forms and in credit card format. Fastening options include press-fitting, external thread, flange and fixing holes
- Robust, thermally and chemically resistant transponders for the low-frequency near field RFID (inductive 125 and 250 kHz). These are insensitive to electromagnetic interference, can be built directly into metal and are cost-efficient
- With the high-frequency near field RFID (inductive 13.56 MHz), you can work three to four times faster than with low-frequency technology. The transponders are very flat, and flexible to integrate due to a coil with just a few windings
- Transponders for the UHF far field RFID can be either active or passive. Passive transponders are very inexpensive to manufacture and can be attached easily to a wide variety of objects
- Transponders for the far field RFID (microwave-based 2.45 GHz) are equipped with a built-in battery and provide long range and speed
RFID heads
RFID read/write heads
Read/write heads are available as inductive components or as microwave antennas. They are controlled by control units and read out read-only codes and variable data areas from the transponders. They can also write to the data areas.
- RFID heads from Pepperl+Fuchs are easy to integrate, for instance as a slim cylinder with an external thread in a flat or compact housing.
- For near field RFID (inductive 125 kHz, 250 kHz and 13.56 MHz), the read/write distances lie in the one- to two-figure centimeter range
- For far field RFID (868 MHz and microwave-based 2.45 GHz), the read/write distances reach a maximum of six meters
For semi-automatic on-site acquisition of data, Pepperl+Fuchs supplies mobile read/write devices, such as robust industrial handhelds with inductive or microwave-based RFID attachment.
