Miniature Photoelectric Sensors ECOLAB™ Certified

Rated for high-pressure, high-temperature wash-down

ML7 series photoelectric sensors are ECOLAB certified
ML7 series photoelectric sensors are ECOLAB certified
Now proven for use in extreme wash-down conditions, the ML7 series photoelectric sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs have both IP69k and IP67 protection ratings as well as material resistance certification from ECOLAB for use with some common caustic cleaning chemicals.

IP69k is a protection rating defined by DIN 40050, Article 9. Sensors compliant to IP69k must withstand specific test conditions of severe high pressure and high temperature wash down. The goal of this testing is to simulate the conditions commonly found in the steam cleaning of food processing equipment. Sensor housings must remain reliably watertight if they are considered compliant to the rigorous test criteria, which include water spray at pressures up to 1450 PSI and at temperatures up to 176°F.

An IP67 protection rating indicates that a sensor must remain watertight when submerged under 1m of water for 30 minutes at room temperature +/-5°C.

ML7 series sensors are also certified by ECOLAB as compatible with some common caustic cleaning agents and disinfectants. ECOLAB develops quality cleaning and sanitizing products worldwide. With their long-standing expertise in the food and beverage processing industries, ECOLAB is best suited to evaluate the performance of the ML7 series with some common acidic and alkaline cleaning and disinfecting chemicals.

ML7 sensors measure a very compact 31mm x 23mm x 11mm, and are available in 5 different operating modes including diffuse, diffuse with background suppression, retro-reflective, retro-reflective for clear object detection, and thru-beam. Sensors can be ordered with two different lens orientations. Newer models are also available with Pepperl+Fuchs’ exclusive 4-in-1 output. 4-in-1 output automatically detects the connected load and sinks or sources as needed, simplifying selection, stocking, and installation time and costs.
